Stain Rx gets numerous such testimonials from customers and users of our stain removal and stain fighting product. Grease, oil, blood, grass, dye – we’ve seen and removed all kinds of stains – and won enthusiasts and converts in the process.

The testimonials below are from people whom we’ve never met or corresponded with. But their comments invariably are the same: Stain Rx works. Period.

Dr. J.R. from Boca Raton, Florida, wrote to say, “I love your product. There is nothing that works as well.”

Mary, a formerly frustrated stain sufferer in San Francisco, California, had a tough olive oil stain on her favorite cotton blouse. She had tried every type of stain remover. She even took the blouse to the dry cleaners. “The stain did not come out. If fact, I only managed to set the stain instead of getting rid of it.”

Thinking her top was trash, she discovered Stain Rx. “I just rubbed the Stain Rx into the stain . . . and the stain disappeared,” she wrote enthusiastically. “I was sold. It works.”

David from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had a similar experience. While removing a cable from beneath a desk in his home, David got grease from the keyboard tray on his favorite white work shirt. Washing didn’t work. Neither did bleach.

Two days later, an office assistant gave David some Stain Rx. Once home, he poured the product on the stain, left it for five minutes, came back and rubbed the grease right off the shirt. Now he has “a shirt that looks as it did before I made such a huge mess. Great job!”

“I think I am about to become the poster child for your product.”

Smart? Lucky? Maybe. Or maybe Stain Rx is just the right product for these people’s toughest stain-fighting needs.

Keep your letters coming. Tell us how Stain Rx got your stain out, and we might put it in – our blog.

Football, picnics, barbeques – and stains. Labor Day is a holiday built on tradition. For many, this includes traditional stain removal.

If you’re facing such stains as a trail of baked beans, barbeque sauce, ketchup or other condiments down the front of a shirt or blouse, or on the lap of the pants, removing the stain shouldn’t be laborious. A few simple steps can help conquer the problem as easily as a chip-shot field goal.

Start by getting off as much of the offending food as possible. Use the edge of a spoon or a dull or butter knife to scrape off the garment. If possible, remove the garment and run cold water through the back of the garment to force the stain from the fabric from behind.

Then use Stain Rx or a liquid enzyme detergent to attack the stain.

Rinse the stain. If necessary, repeat the process until the stain is gone – or as little remains as possible. Finally, apply your normal laundry pre-wash product and let stand before laundering with an enzyme product. Even letting the garment dry outdoors in the sun can provide additional bleaching for stain removal.

If the stain remains, repeat the process – except for that part about spilling beans, sauce or ketchup. Leave those for the plate. And enjoy the rest of your Labor Day holiday.

Summer’s here, and the grillin’ is easy. But the charcoal can be messy.

Summertime grilling on the barbecue makes for tasty eating. But the charcoal stains can dampen the festivities.

Grill like a pro? Tackle your stain removal like one, too. If you get charcoal on a garment…

Immediately remove the garment and moisten the stained area with warm water.

Apply your stain removal product or household remedy.

Launder according to the label – or using warm water and the correct bleach that’s safe for the fabric. If the stain persists, try rubbing alcohol – and launder again.

Remember, once laundered, you often won’t get another chance to take on the stain. If you have a stronger stain removal product, it might be wise to try it first – as opposed to a household solution or remedy.

If charcoal stains the carpet or upholstery, dampen a clean white cloth (remember, colored cloths can transfer their colors to further stain the affected area), and blot the area.

If on carpeting, sprinkle corn starch, baking soda or another absorbent product on the stain and let it stand for about an hour. This will draw the liquid from the affected area. Then vacuum the area. Next, treat the area with carpet cleaning solution or your preferred stain removal product.

For upholstery, some also use a combination of liquid dishwashing detergent and cool water (one tablespoon of detergent to two cups of water). Once your concoction is created:

Dampen the stain with the solution, then…

Blot the area until the solution is absorbed. Once the stain is gone…

Use a sponge or clean cloth with cold water to draw out any residue.

Then blot ’til dry.

Once the spots and stains are clean and dry, return to your barbecue – and enjoy yourself.

Ammonia, warm water, baking soda, laundry detergent… grandma’s timeless stain removal remedies run the gamut when taking on strawberries, red wine, mascara, blood, pet urine, ketchup, or iodine. Stains on carpet and laundry were as challenging in grandma’s day as they are today.

While the list of the toughest stains seems as long as our patience for fighting them is short, some stain removers can tackle stains from a wine spill, pet accident or other liquids better than others. But whether you’re using a family remedy or a store-bought product, a few tips can help ensure – or at least improve your changes for – success.

It’s important to tackle all stains with the same timeliness and attention.

Time is of the essence. DON’T just throw it in the laundry. And don’t set it aside to treat later. Most stains can be removed – or at least minimized – if they’re addressed as soon as possible. Allowed to linger, stains tend to set into the fabric, carpet fibers or upholstery, and can be difficult or impossible to completely remove. Spot treat it immediately, giving the product or remedy time to work. Then, wash it according to label instructions.

Test for color fastness. Some fabrics can be easily faded or damaged during attempts at stain removal – no matter what product is used. For carpets, test the product on a corner that it out of sight. For clothing, test low on the garment – maybe where it will be tucked in, or on the inside of the hem. If the remedy or product doesn’t change, smear, smudge or diminish the color, you’re probably safe to take on the stain itself.

Cold water, cold water and can we say it again cold water, use cold water to rinse off excess and to rinse out stain removal solution, then launder. Remember HEAT sets stains, so NO heat drying until stain is completely removed, retreat the stain until completely gone.

Don’t give up. If your household remedy doesn’t seem to be working, don’t just give up. That will only give the stain a chance to set. It might be time to use a stain removal product like Stain Rx, which is formulated and designed for the job. Have it on hand, buy it now, and when you need it like a good friend, it will be there.
